Introducing the
Nebelung
“”"Creature of the Mist”"”
Combining long silky hair with the elegant Russian Blue body type, the Nebelung breed recreates the Russian longhair.
The Nebelung is recognised in Europe, America and Canada. The UK Nebelungs are mainly from French lines with no more than 6% of inbreeding in their lines. The name stems from the German word (Nebel) for Mist or Fog and from the medieval Germanic saga, Nibelungenlied (the story of which is told in Wagner’s Ring Cycle). The two U.S. foundations cats being named after two characters, Siegfried and Brunhilde.
The Nebelung has a long body, wide-set green eyes, distinctive silky blue-grey coat which is long and dense. The Nebelung has a mild disposition requiring gentle handling. Nebelungs are lively, playful, affectionate, good natured and intelligent cats
